On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a conciliatory gesture towards his political adversary Imran Khan, inviting him to engage in a dialogue if he has any concerns.

“In the event that the founder of the PTI is encountering difficulties while being incarcerated, I emphasise my invitation for us to convene and engage in a dialogue,” stated the prime minister during his address in the National Assembly.

The prime minister remarked that in the past, lawmakers in this chamber would vehemently condemn one other, yet they would also demonstrate solidarity with their adversaries during moments of joy and grief.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been in a state of intense disagreement for several years, especially following the February 8 elections, which Imran’s party asserts that it emerged victorious in.

Regarding the 2018 elections, the prime minister stated, “Despite the manipulated polls, we participated in the parliament.” The slogans that were raised during my first address will forever be regarded as a sombre episode in the annals of history.

“In cases of injustice, I firmly believe that the balance of justice should favour the victims, regardless of whether they are politicians or individuals from any background.”

The Prime Minister expressed regret that, during his time in the opposition, he had previously suggested that Imran participate in discussions, but similar slogans were once again raised. “Who bears the responsibility for this acrimony among politicians?” “We no longer engage in handshakes,” he stated.

Additionally, he made reference to the treatment of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah during their incarceration.

PTI will engage in discussions only if Imran Khan and the other individuals are out from prison. Ayub
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, reaffirmed that the PTI would engage in discussions with the current government, known as the “Form-47” government, only once its founder and other imprisoned workers and leaders were released from jail.

“It is important to remember that you subject our employees to torture and confine our female workers in prison vans at a temperature of 45°C.” Amidst the chanting from the government seats, the prime minister, Imran Khan, stated that he was confined in a cell designated for executions, which had an extremely hot and oppressive atmosphere similar to that of an oven.

Ayub stated that in order for the house’s operations to progress, it was imperative for the government members to show respect towards their opposition colleagues, notwithstanding the commotion.

In response to the premier’s request for discussions, he stated: “Reconciliation will occur once you acknowledge the mistreatment of Yasmin Rashid, Mehmood ur Rasheed, and Hasan Niazi.”

According to the prime, he experienced extremely unfavourable circumstances. Ayub alleged that during Nawaz Sharif’s imprisonment, he had air conditioners installed in his detention cell.
