Despite a terrible showing at the T20 World Cup, Pakistani players are set to get “generous payouts”

In spite of a humiliating first-round defeat from the T20 World Cup, Pakistan’s cricket team’s financial future seems bright.

In addition to match costs totaling Rs1,674,336 for each player, there will be a substantial daily allowance of more than Rs550,000. The 15 players and their management will receive $247,500, or almost Rs70 million, from the International Cricket Council (ICC), which works out to be more than Rs4.3 million for each of them.

In addition, each participant will receive an additional $62,308, or around Rs17.5 million, for winning both of their matches.

These profitable results come after players successfully negotiated a 3% share of ICC earnings for the 2023–24 central contracts, which considerably increased their monthly salary.

The monthly salary of the top players in Category A is currently Rs6.03 million, with significant rises in other categories as well. Future pay increases from ICC shares are promised under the 2024–25 and 2025–26 contracts, although the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is thinking about eliminating this advantage.

Even with these financial increases, the squad is still performing poorly. Their troubles were highlighted by their failures against the USA and India in the T20 World Cup, where they were unable to go past the opening stages.

The team’s T20 ranking has now fallen to sixth, which is a concerning dip from their previous number one spot.
