Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood presided over the acquittal pleas.

Advocate Sardar Masroof and Amina Ali, lawyers representing PTI, came in court and presented their arguments.

Sardar Masroof contended that the First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against the PTI leaders were not lodged based on a complaint made by an authorised entity.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was exonerated in two trials that occurred on May 9.

Incidents of violence that occurred on May 9th

Widespread confrontations erupted throughout Pakistan following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan on May 9, 2023.

The rallies took place in both remote and big cities as party members were angered by the detention of their chairman. Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad called upon the military forces to maintain peace and order.

PTI workers launched attacks on various Army posts, including the residence of the Corps Commander in Lahore, during the protests.

It is important to note that the PTI founder is identified as the primary defendant in all the proceedings related to the May 9 riots.
